Send us documents
Almost every story the Times has broken began with a document someone thought the public should see. In 2006 it was an auction protocol. In 2007 it was a treaty.
How
- Bring it. Our office on Printers’ Lane is open every day, and on Wednesdays until the paper goes to press. Ask for the investigations desk. You do not have to give your name.
- Post it. Paper copies by post to the Irad Times, 3 Printers’ Lane, Talas, marked “for the editor”.
- Through someone abroad. Friends of the Irad Times will pass on anything sent to it in Chicago.
What we promise
We never name a source who asks not to be named, and in thirty years we never have. We check every document before we use it, and we put it to the people it concerns. If we cannot confirm it, we do not print it.
Think before you send anything from a work computer or phone. Paper is still the safest way to reach us.
